As Home Automation products have become more popular and accessible, the demand for comfort and versatility in the management of heating, lighting and access control systems for a family home as well as an office complex is growing. People are becoming more aware of their living and working environment and are increasingly looking for an energy efficient and sustainable solution. From an automation perspective, this has previously meant more wires, more devices and naturally higher installation costs and risks.

KNX technology overcomes these hurdles by ensuring that all devices and components speak a common language. Whether you want to control lighting, shutters, security systems, energy management, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning systems, signaling and monitoring systems, interfaces to service and building control systems, remote control, audio and video control,... All these functions work via an uniform system. This is called the principle of interworking. This is home and building control made easy. This is KNX.

KNX is a Future Proof Technology

KNXproject

The smart home and building market is constantly changing and technology is improving fast. KNX technology is a reference in home and building control and many automation solutions currently in use today will have KNX innovation at their core.

Endless Personalisation and Integration

KNX

KNX allows for a broad range of devices communicate with each other, even if they are from different manufacturers, and can even be integrated together with other automation systems. In that way, the choice which products available to use is quite large and can suit most installations. KNX has been involved in the building automation industry for over 28 years. Moreover, the technology can be used in both new as well as existing buildings. A KNX installation can be easily extended and adapted to new needs, with little time and financial investment. KNX can be implemented in both small-size family houses as well as large buildings.

Reliable and Secure Installation

KNXinterface4

KNX is committed to always being compliant with the highest security requirements in the market. KNX Secure is integrated within the existing software and allows for a secure and easy installation process. The KNX Secure technology is standardised according to EN 50090-3-4, which means that KNX successfully blocks hacker attacks on the digital infrastructure of networked buildings. Thus minimising the risk of digital break-ins. KNX Secure meets the highest encryption standards (according to ISO 18033-3, such as AES 128 CCM encryption) in order to effectively prevent attacks on the digital infrastructure of buildings and to achieve the highest level of data protection. KNX Secure guarantees maximum protection by offering a double protection. KNX IP Secure extends the IP protocol in such a way that all transferred telegrams and data are completely encrypted. KNX Data Secure effectively protects user data against unauthorised access and manipulation by means of encryption and authentication. When it comes to the actual installation, there is only one tool for commissioning which has an easy to use interface. This will save valuable time which would otherwise be spent integrating and setting up the network. Futhermore, the end client can take control of their own smart home or office using KNX's latest software ETS Inside. This allows them to make small modifications to their network and have greater control over their home or office.
